April 21, 2024 Do This In Remembrance of Me

Hi Friends! Passover begins tomorrow evening at sundown and is a holy day observed by Jews and Christians around the world for thousands of years. On this historical day, Jews celebrate their supernatural, miraculous deliverance from the hands of the Egyptian taskmasters. God protected the Israelites during a series of plagues ending with a lamb being slain, and its blood smeared upon the doorposts of their homes, protecting them from the death angel which passed through Egypt. Many of you know those famous words of Scripture where God told Moses (Exodus 12:13), ‘When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.’ Later, after the Israelites had been delivered from Egypt, God commanded them to commemorate that day annually forever. (Leviticus 23:14)

Fast forward to the year 33 AD, Jesus serves the Passover Seder meal to his disciples in the Upper Room. For their whole lives, these Jewish men have enjoyed this day celebrating their glorious deliverance from Egypt, enjoying the ancient Passover customs, and stories to be told and retold. However, this night was different, in that Jesus revealed Passover’s real purpose. Even in those moments as Jesus shared his instructions with his disciples, they didn’t fully grasp the gravity of the words Jesus shared. Lifting the unleavened bread, He says, ‘This is My Body which is broken for you – Do this in remembrance of Me.’ (Luke 22:19-20)

During a traditional Jewish Passover, there are four cups of wine that are served at stages of the Seder meal. Each cup carries specific meaning and purpose. Each cup also pointed to the work that Jesus would forever settle for us on the Cross as our Passover Lamb.

The 1st Cup – ‘I will bring you out.’ This cup signified God’s salvation from harsh labor.

The 2nd Cup – ‘I will redeem you.’ This cup signified God’s salvation from enslavement.

The 3rd Cup – ‘I will deliver you.’ This cup signified God’s permanent deliverance from enemies.

The 4th Cup – ‘I will take you for a people’ – This cup signified a marriage covenant between God and His chosen people.

The third cup is poured after the end of the meal. This is also known as ‘The Cup of Blessing.’ Traditionally, upon drinking the third cup, a hymn known as ‘The Hallel’ is sung by the Passover guests. The Hallel is drawn from Psalms 113-118, specifically leaning on Psalm 118:22 (Chief Cornerstone). This is the cup that Jesus served as He ended the Passover Meal. The Bible literally says they sang the hymn and left the room but they didn’t drink the 4th cup. (Matthew 26:27-30)

The Significance of the 4th Cup —

Regarding the 4th cup, Jesus said He wasn’t going to drink that cup until He meets His disciples in His kingdom! The Lord skipped the fourth cup because it’s ‘The Wedding Cup’! Friends, Passover carries such deep significance for all believers because it’s an annual reminder that the Bridegroom is coming soon! Who wouldn’t want to celebrate Passover now?! Jesus is waiting to drink the Wedding Cup with us at The Marriage Supper of the Lamb! He became our Passover, saving us from the satanic taskmaster, the bondage to sin, and delivering us from darkness to light! He is holding the wedding cup over for the wedding supper, and I can’t wait to join Him in the final toast! He has taken us for His people!

To Jesus be all the glory and honor! Take the day tomorrow – Passover – and tell Him how thankful you are for His sacrifice. Read Psalms 113-118 and see Him prophetically & repeatedly mentioned. Take Communion with other believers or Celebrate the Passover with a renewed passion – seeing that you are now part of the story of redemption! Have a glorious day celebrating Passover with Jesus our soon-coming King! Please also pray for Israel to be delivered from her enemies at this historical time!

Matthew 26:29 — I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.

April 14, 2024 - Stand With Israel

April 2024 — Vol. 2

This promise has stood the test of time, even after thousands of years. Those who stand with Israel will be blessed, as it proves that God keeps His covenants. Israel is forever God’s Chosen People, and we should remember this special covenant. Let us position ourselves on the right side of history concerning Israel.

In a time when the world is redefining core values and relationships, and even re-writing history books, let us keep in step with the Word of God, aligning ourselves with its truth. God decided long ago through His covenant with Abraham that Israel would be the centerpiece of civilization and through Israel would come forth His precious Son, Jesus the Messiah. It behooves us as believers to pray for Israel, to bless the promised land, and to pray for deliverance from all its enemies.

I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you, all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

— Genesis 12:3

This weekend Iran launched an unprecedented strike against Israel launching hundreds of suicide drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles hoping to kill thousands of Israelis and destroy the country. Thankfully, 99% were destroyed by Israel and their Iron Dome air defense missile system.

As the world is maneuvering its political positions, taking sides for or against Israel, we must remember where God is standing. He’s still standing in the same place – He has Israel’s back! It’s a simple matter – God stands with Israel so we stand with Israel. Don’t believe all the media lies, slander, or propaganda and get on the wrong side of history.

How You Can Support Israel:

Prayer – Literally Pray for the Peace of Israel. Pray that Israel will be protected from all enemy attacks and that any attack on Israel will be defeated. Start Prayer groups in your churches specifically around praying for Israel.

Send Financial Support to Trusted Israeli Groups:

As many of you know, Israeli citizens must leave their jobs and families to fight for the preservation of their homes. Their livelihoods are put on hold while they serve in various positions in the IDF.

Let’s Stand With Israel, privately, publicly, and prayerfully!

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

Psalm 122:6

April 1st, 2024 - The Day Everything Changed

When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint Him. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” — ‭‭Mark 16:1-3

Three long, gut wrenching days had passed since they last saw their suffering Lord pour out his life on the cruel cross of execution. Their dreams shattered, their passover feast, a time of joyful, victorious remembrance absolutely ruined as it is overshadowed by the disgraceful death of their beloved Master. The hopes of Messiah overthrowing the Roman kingdom and taking back Israel – in shambles.

All that was left was to prepare His hastily entombed body for permanent burial and then return to a life of hopelessness. No doubt their tortured minds considered a bleak future – one without Jesus. How would they go on? What was the point of the past three years? All the miracles, the joyful times, spent together with their Rabbi – all seemingly gone up in smoke. And now more importantly, who’s going to push away that heavy stone?! Little did that sad trio of women know that their lives were about to change FOREVER!

The First Day — EVERYTHING CHANGED!

As they approached the tomb, struggling both emotionally, and under the weight of the heavy embalming spices, their sadness turned into shocked surprise and fear as they caught sight of the massive stone rolled to the side and Jesus’ empty tomb open and exposed. Upon entering the tomb they encounter additional shock: an angel in white is waiting on their arrival.

And speaking of angles – why do these guys always think that saying “don’t be alarmed” is supposed to help calm folks nerves?! They go from being distraught to fear, to shocked and scared, to astonished and trembling! Talk about an emotionally loaded morning! The Roman soldiers guarding the tomb were knocked out on the ground! It’s no wonder God sent women to make the empty tomb discovery – they can handle those emotions a lot better than men!

Hope Resurrected — He is RISEN INDEED!

The angelic news of Jesus’ mind bending resurrection changed their bleak mindsets to hopeful astonishment as they ran back to town to tell the disciples of Jesus. That angel told them that Jesus had gone ahead of them to Galilee.

Friends, just as Jesus left word for his disciples that we was going ahead of them to Galilee and would meet them there, He’s done the same for us. We have the same hope! He’s has already gone ahead of us and he is the “Firstfruits of the Resurrection. That means that he was the first person to resurrect into a new body, and a new life and just has God raised him from the dead we have hope that he’ll do the same for us too.

Whatever thoughts are weighing you down today, just remember Jesus, GOT UP, is in your present, and your future, and you can rest at ease in the hope that He’s got you! Drop the sadness, hopelessness, or fear of the unknown, and embrace the truth and power of His Resurrection!  Jesus is alive, and because He is alive, we can fully live in peace and joy. Trust Him today – He’s the only One who can give you peace. -Shalom!

If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

— 1 Cor. 15:19-20

March 15, 2024 - Under His Wings

He shall cover you with His feathers,

And under His wings you shall take refuge;

His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

— ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91‬:‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Under His Wings:

Watching a pair of bald eagles lately has been fascinating! They mate for life and are amazingly attentive to their young, both male and female, meticulously caring for them even before they are born, or hatched! Through the storms, heavy winds, freezing rain and snow, they cover those eggs. They fight off predators as a team, with one always covering the babies under their wings. It was incredible to see the male eagle spread his wings over the entire nest while ravens were encircling.

Likewise, our Heavenly Father covers us under His wings, protecting us from and through the storms of life. He is our refuge, safety, and shield — from that enemy seeking whom he may devour. Do you have a miraculous story of His divine protection? I bet you do, possibly many. Truthfully, we’d all perish without Him. He’s a good, good Father, carefully and continually watching over us, like the eagles, especially when we’re hurting, broken, or feeling alone. He’s always there, covering us with His feathers. His Presence is our refuge.

The Death & Resurrection of an Eagle

Did you know eagles go through an excruciating, molting process? It’s both terrible and incredible. For the adult eagle to survive and thrive, it first must nearly and painfully die. The eagle must fly alone to a high mountain and hide in the cleft of the rock. In order to get a new, strong, sharp beak, claws, and feathers, all necessary to hunt, it must choose to detach the old ones that are now weak and worn out.

The eagle is then alone, hidden, extremely vulnerable, and unable to fly during this time, which can take several months to complete. It must painfully tear off the old to gain the new. Oh, but when the process is completed, that eagle soars with a new strength it never knew before.

So it is with true followers of Jesus Christ. We must die to self so that He can live in us and through us, a glorious new life, filled with the Spirit of God. It’s a painful choice, the suffering of the Cross, required to gain the glory of the Resurrection. (Phil. 3:10) This flesh must die 1000 deaths. The Apostle Paul said, “I die daily.” ( 1 Cor. 15:31)

What do you mean we have to die? Like the eagle, we must tear off or crucify the “old man,” our sinful nature — this earthly, carnal, flesh Paul hated, and choose to live by the Spirit and walk in the Spirit. (Gal. 5) And at times, God takes us to a new, hidden place to be alone with Him, in the cleft of the Rock (See Ex. 33) where we are weak, vulnerable, and dying, only to resurrect us in His time and in His way.

Just wait, because He’s about to do something new and glorious in your life! He will renew your strength like the eagles! He’s not a man that He should lie (Num. 23:19), so trust Him to complete His work in you. (Phil.1:6)

Thank you to our partners for your prayers and support. We pray God’s peace and presence cover you and your family. May He renew our strength like the eagles and hide us under His wings.

Shalom!

March 1, 2024 - The Spirit & The Bride Say "Come!"

You’re invited! —

“And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And He said to me, “These are the true words of God.””

Revelation‬ ‭19‬:‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Imagine the most wonderful wedding you’ve ever seen, perhaps your own, maybe Princess Diana’s, but let me tell you — the most glorious wedding of all time is yet to come, and you’re invited!! It’s happening soon, and believe me, you don’t want to miss it!

I go to Prepare a Place for You!

“In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” ‭‭— John‬ ‭14‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

In many weddings, the beautiful bride walks down the aisle to be married to her beloved husband. In traditional Jewish weddings however, the couple is engaged, and the groom goes away to prepare a place for his bride, and she waits expectantly for him to come take her away to be with him. He could come for her at any time, and it’s a wonderful surprise! She is always watching, expectantly waiting, and getting ready for him! How romantic!

The Marriage Supper of the Lamb!

“Let us rejoice and exult and give Him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready;”  Revelation‬ ‭19‬:‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Did you catch that?! The Bride has made herself ready! Are you getting ready? Are you putting the pieces of this glorious, heavenly puzzle together with me? We the Church are the Bride, and Jesus Christ is the Groom! We are all invited to the wedding in Heaven, to the place He has gone to prepare for us! He’s coming back to get us and take us Home to live with Him forever. When? In the imminent rapture of the church (see the previous Rock email devotional).

The Spirit and the Bride say, Come!

“The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.”

‭‭— Revelation‬ ‭22‬:‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I’ve never in my life been more excited and expectant of Jesus coming, and that’s got to be the Holy Spirit who lives within us! I’m hearing the same thing from so many believers right now, and yet never has the world been so dark. His light shines brighter in the darkness. We all need to be ready and have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying. The Spirit AND the Bride – Church agree! May we all be encouraged and empowered with this Good News! If you have any questions, concerns, prayer requests, or testimonies, please let us know. We truly hope these email devotionals are a blessing to your heart and life. Please share them with those who need to know Jesus.

Thank You!

Thank you to all our partners and supporters for your faithful giving and prayer support. We pray God’s peace, health, healing, and love surrounds you and your family. May His love and light continue to shine brightly in and through us until He comes!

Shalom, Love, & Blessings!

February 18, 2024 - I'm COMING SOON!!!

The Prophetic Dream —

This week I dreamed about a large crowd of people in the street, possibly a parade or church gathering, and I suddenly shouted to them in a thundering voice, not my own, “JESUS IS COMING SOON!!” Miraculously, they all heard me. They all paused and looked at me incredulously, and I knew they heard the loud message, but they just went back to doing whatever they were doing before.

The warning sadly went unheeded. This dream reminds me of Jesus’ Parable of the 10 Virgins in Matthew 25 — sadly, the 5 foolish ones had no oil in their lamps when the Bridegroom came. They did not get to go to the wedding. Jesus is the Bridegroom, the oil is the Holy Spirit, and the Church is the Bride. We are to be ready to meet Him when He comes for us, but sadly He knows many will not be ready or even looking for Him and will be left behind — 5 were taken & 5 were left out.

The Questions —

Let’s ask ourselves these questions:

Are you looking for Jesus and excited for His glorious appearing in the clouds?

Are you looking forward to being taken up in “The Rapture” to meet Him?

Is Jesus your Bridegroom & you can’t wait to be with Him forever?

Or —

Are you scared? Not ready yet?

Do you have more important things to do?

Don’t believe He’s coming any time soon so you’re good?

The Answers —

The answers are in the eternal Word of God! Please read the following passages and continue in the Word, cover to cover.

The Hope of the Rapture — 1 Thes. 4:13-18

Awake, Watch, and be Sober — 1 Thes. 5:1-11

Know the Signs of the Times — Matt. 24:3-14

Watch, Pray & Escape — Luke 21:34-36

The Marriage Supper of the Lamb — Rev. 19:6-10

The Good News —

The Word says to comfort and encourage one another with the good news of His Coming, especially our friends and families, and to pray for those who don’t know Jesus. Our time is short. He is coming soon. We can see all the signs of the times like never before. With the globalist agenda and all the technological advances in artificial intelligence (AI), we cannot even begin to comprehend what’s coming. It’s been said AI is more dangerous than nuclear weapons. Aren’t we glad that we have a Savior who has not appointed us to wrath, but made a way of escape and is coming for us. He will NOT punish the righteous with the wicked — Gen. 18:23-25 He’s coming soon! Hallelujah!

Shalom!

February 3, 2024 - Are You a Hearer or a Doer?

“Are You a Hearer or a Doer?”

James 1:22-25 (ESV):

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

Consistency is Key:

So many of us are off to a great start reading the Bible plan through in 2024. Hopefully, you’re developing this extremely beneficial habit of daily delving into the Scriptures and discovering its transforming truth. Consistency is the key here! James points out in this passage the importance of “continuing in it”—the habitual execution of daily exposing our hearts to God’s Word and its transforming power. I don’t know about you, but in my own life, consistency has been a lifelong challenge. I was a great starter but not always good at sticking to the plan, let alone finishing. Laura, my best friend and life partner, was the one who helped me see the value of daily consistency in reading through the Bible. I had perfected the “quick look” in God’s Word—typically a familiar Psalm or a chapter in one of the Gospels, and then the proverbial check off the list! This bad habit I formed out of a sense of hurry—running out the door to work or trying to squeeze it in at the end of the day as I lay my head down to sleep. I gave it a quick look but not long enough to really think about applying any serious change. As I began to consistently, systematically read the Bible, I realized that subtle changes were taking place in my life. Faith was growing, peace was settling, the old flesh was dying, and the Holy Spirit was winning! It didn’t happen overnight; it just happened gradually over time! It’s like hiking a mountain on a wooded trail, and at some point, you break out onto a clearing and suddenly realize how far you’ve come and how high up you’ve climbed! You can see far back down the trail where you started. The joy is in the journey!

A Long Look at the Law:

This passage emphasizes not a quick glance but a long look; an intent look. A look with the purpose of holding up the Scripture like a mirror and allowing it to look back at us. Are we ready to hold the Word up to shine the light on our lives? There must be a commitment to absolute surrender to change when God’s truth exposes areas that need changing in our lives. It’s amazing how even on a “pre-planned” Scripture reading, God can sovereignly highlight areas in our lives where we need to surrender something or repent of sin. Maybe just the exact amount of specific encouragement we need. This passage in James calls God’s Word “The perfect law of Freedom”. Who knew that freedom is found in the “perfect Law”!? “The Law” is kind of a harsh word that comes from the original Greek language. The Hebrew language better translates law as “the teaching” or even “the beautiful instruction”. So as we look into God’s beautiful instruction for our lives and take the time to apply those instructions and become doers or practitioners of those instructions, we will experience those changes we have long reached for but never quite achieved.

Read, Look, Change, Repeat!:

So where would you say you are on this journey? Reading to ramp your walk with God up to the next level? Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been reading, looking, and changing for years, there’s always room to improve. Each step we take will bring us closer in our relationship with Jesus – The Author and Finisher of our Faith.

Closing Prayer:

Heavenly Father, as we immerse ourselves in Your Word throughout this year, open our hearts to be not only hearers but doers of Your truth. May the Scriptures be a mirror revealing areas in our lives that need Your transformative touch. Empower us to apply Your Word daily, experiencing the freedom and blessings it brings. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

January 16, 2024 - The Bible's Transformative Power

The Bible’s Transformative Power

As we embark on this journey of our Bible Reading Challenge titled “Cover 2 Cover”, we invite you to join us in experiencing this power first-hand. The aim of this initiative is not just to read the Bible from cover to cover, but to commit to understanding and living by the teachings contained within its holy verses.

The Importance of Reading the Bible Daily

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” Joshua 1:8. Taking this verse to heart, we urge you to make reading the Bible a daily habit. It’s more than just a routine, it’s a conscious decision to align ourselves with God’s Word.

The Book of Instruction and The Way of Truth

The Bible is referred to as ‘The Book of Instruction’ and ‘The Way of Truth’. These titles remind us of the wisdom and guidance we can garner from the scriptures. As we read and meditate on the Bible, we are choosing the path of truth with God’s judgments laid before us. “I have chosen the way of truth: Thy judgments have I laid before me.” Psalm 119:30.

A Journey of Transformation

Engaging in the daily practice of reading the Bible is a profound journey of becoming more like Jesus each day. As we consistently practice this habit, the Holy Spirit works within us, bringing us into alignment with Jesus who is the embodiment of Scripture. Jesus declared, ‘I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life’ (John 14:6).

By immersing ourselves in the transformative power of God’s truth, we align our hearts with the Way, our minds with the Truth, and our lives with the abundant Life found in Jesus. As we turn the pages of Scripture daily, we are not just reading words; we are embarking on a journey of transformation, aligning ourselves with God’s standard (judgments).

Start Reading Today!

The decision to embark on this transformative journey is yours to make. We invite you to join us in this challenge, to read and understand the Bible, to meditate on its teachings, and to live by them. Start today and experience the profound impact of God’s Word in your life. We are currently using the YouVersion Bible App to go through the Bible in a year. You can jump on board with us by clicking copying the link below. It’s truly amazing how seemingly “random” pre-selected texts of Scripture can be so “spot on” for what you may be dealing with in your daily life! The Holy Spirit knows exactly where you are an he has something specifically for you in The Bible every day.

January 1, 2024 - Happy New Year From The Rock!

Dear Rock Family & Friends,

Happy New Year! Wow, we survived 2023! It has been a year of enormous transition, having moved to the North GA Mountains after living in the Loganville area for nearly 2 decades. We had just returned from Australia and Micronesia in November of 2003. My how time flies and the seasons change!

We want to update you all on what God is doing and pray that this latest Rock newsletter will be a blessing and encouragement to you. The Rock is currently updating our website and social media, and preparing for more regular posts including audio & video productions. Our goal is to magnify the Name of Jesus during the last days and prepare people for eternity with Him. We all see the signs of the times prophesied in the Bible coming to pass, especially “wars and rumors of wars,’ and we do believe Jesus is coming soon. Let’s all look up, for our redemption draws near! (Luke 21:28)

This new year is the perfect opportunity to cultivate the most important habit of all – spending time with God. We highly recommend committing to a one-year Bible reading plan (we use YouVersion). You will deepen your relationship with Him and be strengthened by reading and understanding His love letter to you. His promises are true, and we should not fear. By making God the top priority in your life, you’ll find that everything else falls into place naturally. As the world gets darker, the light must shine brighter.

May we all Re-focus, Re-evaluate, and Re-engage with God like never before in 2024. Now is the time. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” — ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬ TLV

We pray His love, joy, peace, and Presence be upon you all in 2024 and forever.

— Cole & Laura

December 21, 2022 Jesus - The Prince of Peace

While many are celebrating this season, we must also remember how the holidays can be an extremely painful time of year for others. 2022 has been especially tough for everyone. So many are broken, hurting, have lost loved ones, suffer from broken families, broken relationships, or serious illnesses. Many are fighting addictions, financial impossibilities, or even suicide at this time of year. Our hearts, love, and prayers go out to all.

Through it all, there is shining ray of hope, like the dawning of a new day, in which the God of the universe shines His light through the darkness, and says, “I am with you, always, even unto the end of the age.” (Matt. 28:20) We see God show up, time and time again, in big ways and small ways, and making a way where there’s no way.

Jesus, the Prince of Peace, came into this world to save, heal, and deliver us from all darkness, giving us His perfect peace. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” — John‬ ‭14‬:‭27‬

God’s love is infinite in power, reaching even to the deepest and darkest places of our hearts, souls, and lives, bringing peace, hope, and joy. He is the God of the impossible. May we all seek to be His hands, His feet, and His voice during this holiday season and share JESUS, our Prince of Peace.

December 14, 2022 - Defending Your Faith

The book of Jude is one of the shortest but most impactful books of the Bible. Jude challenges believers to “earnestly contend” for their faith. The word “contend” by definition means “to struggle in opposition” or “to strive or to dispute earnestly.” This mandate to stand in defense of our faith is just as necessary today as it was when Jude wrote his letter to the Church in the first century.

In today’s insane counter-culture, we are constantly being bombarded with ungodly, un-Biblical, anti-Christ agendas trying to force the Church to accept anything under the sun. It’s high time to stand our ground! Remember, we are in a WAR of Light vs. Darkness, Good vs. Evil, and God vs. Satan. What’s at stake? Lives, souls, children, marriages, families, our country… eternity. If you don’t stand up and fight the good fight of faith (1 Tim. 6:12), who will?

In order to earnestly contend for the faith, we first must KNOW the Faith. We must be deeply grounded in God’s Word. I am amazed at how many folks who claim to be followers of Jesus for many years are not intimately acquainted with Scripture! We cannot depend on one or two church services a week or a Bible podcast occasionally to be grounded and ready to defend our faith. Those services may be wonderful, however YOU & The HOLY SPIRIT need to be daily diving into Scripture, digging, studying, & allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you. (John 16:13 – He is our Teacher). This practice should become a godly passion for us all.

Jude also challenges us to build our faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, and keeping ourselves in the love of God. Notice he didn’t say, “let someone else build you up,” He says YOU BUILD YOURSELF UP (VS 20) in YOUR FAITH — not your Mama’s faith, or your denomination’s faith — YOUR FAITH.

When it comes time to lace on those holy gloves to defend your faith in this crazy world, you need to be standing in YOUR HOLY FAITH that was developed by you with the HOLY SPIRIT & the Love of GOD. Go ahead, try on the gloves! The more you study, grow, and spiritually develop those muscles in God’s Word, you’ll soon be ready to CONTEND. Don’t give up ground in these final days. Stand strong in the Spirit.

I love how Jude ends his challenge to the saints: Now unto Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the Presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. — Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭24‬-‭25‬

December 8, 2022 - The King Is Coming!

Friends, I’ve got good news and bad news! The bad news first:

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:”

‭‭— II Timothy‬ ‭3:1‬

Well, we are in the last days, and these are perilous times. Yay! Not really. The prophetic description in that chapter and others have come to pass. Additionally, NEVER before in history has there been a global injection mandate, but that is exactly what has just happened with the “Covid-19 vaccine” and exactly what we are warned about in Rev. 13 — to NOT take the global injection of “the mark of the beast.” I firmly believe along with many others, that this was just a precursor of what is to come. We the church had better get ready and learn to say “NO” to the globalist agenda.

Now for the GOOD NEWS!! I love how the MSG speaks of this glorious event:

“And then this: We can tell you with complete confidence—we have the Master’s word on it—that when the Master comes again to get us, those of us who are still alive will not get a jump on the dead and leave them behind. In actual fact, they’ll be ahead of us. The Master Himself will give the command. Archangel thunder! God’s trumpet blast! He’ll come down from heaven and the dead in Christ will rise—they’ll go first. Then the rest of us who are still alive at the time will be caught up with them into the clouds to meet the Master. Oh, we’ll be walking on air! And then there will be one huge family reunion with the Master. So reassure one another with these words.” — 1 Thes.‬ ‭4:15-18‬

Hallelujah!! Jesus is our Savior, and He’s not coming as a baby in a manger anymore. The Lion of the tribe of Judah is coming to save us out of these perilous times. “Rapturo” is Greek for the word Rapture, which means “catching away.” Not only is this the mighty promise of God, but He’s done it at least 3 times before — with Enoch (Gen. 5:24), Elijah (2 Kings 2:11-12), and Jesus Himself (Acts 1:9-11).

Perhaps the greatest sign of all is that the nation of Israel is back from the dead, born in a day, on May 14,1948, after the ‘Diaspora” of 2000 years! The “fig tree” has bloomed and this generation shall not pass away until He comes. (Matt. 24:32-44) So be ready, because:

“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.””

— Luke‬ ‭21:28‬

The King is Coming!!

December 1, 2022 - Signs of His Presence

One particularly difficult & discouraging day many years ago, I remember seeing the verse Jer. 29:11 on my calendar. You probably know that one! Later that day, I stopped to get gasoline, and the pump turned off right at $29.11. Shortly after that a friend sent me Jer. 29:11 in a txt, and that afternoon I got it in an email too! He definitely got the message through to me!

Sometimes there are days when we just need a little reminder that “I am with you, even unto the end of the age.” (Matt. 28:20) I call these reminders “God moments” or signs of His Presence. It’s when our awesome God manifests Himself to us. Those moments are so encouraging and often help us make it through whatever we’re facing.

In His Word, the greatest commandment we are given is to love Him, but then if we love Him, the Lord promises to MANIFEST or reveal Himself to us. Isn’t that amazing, that the greatest commandment comes with such a great promise?

In Exodus, God showed His people many signs that He was with them, one of the best being a cloud by day and a fire by night to lead them. He was indeed with them. Jesus did innumerable miracles compelling faith, even of the most hardened skeptics. He also promised us the precious Holy Spirit to abide in us and to be with us as our Comforter, our Teacher, and our Guide. (See John 16)

What are some of the ways God reveals Himself or speaks to you? We’d love to hear it! Just reply to this email, and maybe we’ll share your story to encourage others. Shalom!

November 22, 2022 - Being Thankful In Hard Times

Thanksgiving Day has always been my favorite American Holiday ever since I was a little boy — yes it even beat out Christmas. I always looked forward to seeing family, stealing food from the kitchen before it was ready to go to the table, and watching old movies after we had all partaken of too much delicious food. It’s nice to reflect on happy memories, laugh over Thanksgiving bloopers like walking in on the dog standing in the middle of the Thanksgiving table eating the turkey! However, the truth is sometimes these holidays catch us when we may feel that there isn’t much for which we can be thankful.

These past two years have devastated many many people around the world. Folks have faced the loss of income, jobs, retirement, and even worse, many of us have lost loved ones during the Covid-19 attack. How do we hold onto our faith during these difficult seasons and keep our hearts in a right perspective? God has commanded us (not suggested) that in EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE we remain THANKFUL. Even in loss, we must find space to be thankful to God. He is the ultimate giver. Every gift that we have ever received was given to us by God. (James 1:17). God himself set the example of giving when He made the ultimate sacrifice in giving His precious Son Jesus to die a horrible death on the cross to take away our sins. He is acquainted with loss, pain, loneliness, and love.

Friends, God knows how you feel. He understands the pain. He uses all of these circumstances for our good. We must choose to trust in His goodness even if all we can see up close seems to be devastation. Thankfulness actually protects our hearts from falling into a place of bitterness and resentment. Thankfulness is not a feeling — its a decision to be obedient. Choosing to be thankful isn’t something we do once a year on a particular day — its a decision we must make every day of the year. When we put all those daily decisions to be thankful together we can see from the 40,000 foot high perspective that God knows best and that we can trust Him.

Let’s choose Thankfulness today and every day no matter how we feel. If you are struggling right now and need prayer please drop us an email. We would love to pray for you. Click the prayer request button below. May the God of all Grace be with you.

November 14, 2022 - Do You Fit In Or Stand Out?

Have you ever felt like a square trying to fit into a circle? A lot of folks try very hard to blend in with their surroundings – just going with the flow and don’t make any noise. Popularity has become far to high on our priority meters in this world. From the very beginning God has been calling his followers to march to the beat of a very different drum. If you are truly a follower of Jesus, you should feel very “squarish” when the world’s system tells you to fit in their circles. In those decision moments it’s important to stand strong. Be faithful to the “shape” He has created you. Boldly stand out, not in an obnoxious manner, but by just being the very best representation of Jesus you can be.

How do you accomplish this mission? Romans 12:2 holds the simple answer. Discover God’s purpose for your life by habitually studying His Word and continuing to walk it out in your life. As you become more familiar with the “shape” of God, you’ll be less likely to cave into the world’s pressure. Friends, Jesus did NOT fit in, and it’s time for us Jesus followers to get comfortable looking different. We are called to STAND OUT – not to fit in. We are to be walking, talking testimonies of God’s work.

The Bible says in Ephesians 2 that God considers us to be His MASTERPIECES! “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” — Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬ ‭ God, the Master Builder, planned long before you were ever born to shape you or transform you into a beautiful masterpiece, intended to be on display as His witness and testimony for all the world to see. Stop trying to blend in or fit in. Let your light shine — let the world see the beautiful “shape” of Jesus happening on the inside of you!

November 8, 2022 - Blood Moons & The Day of the Lord

“The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome Day of the Lord comes.” — Joel‬ ‭2:31‬

Today is Election Day in America, but the first one ever with a Blood Moon, a total lunar eclipse. What does this mean if anything? Scripture records “blood moons” only 3 times — in Joel 2:31, Acts 2:20, and Rev. 6:12. They are most definitely heavenly signs of the times.

I believe this Blood Moon is a wake up call from God, especially for America. The signs in the Heavens above are ordained by God, and are significant according to Scripture. Remember the star of Bethlehem, lighting the way to the Birth of Jesus? They’re meant to call to us, to look up, to awaken, and to pay attention.

America is on the precipice of destruction due to sin. But…

“If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles‬ ‭7:14‬

We are in the midst of a Great Awakening which requires great repentance. Jesus is coming soon, and Blood Moons are reminders to us to be prepared, to watch and pray, and like the parable of the 10 Virgins, to have oil in our lamps, ready and awaiting the Bridegroom’s return.

Tonight is a great opportunity to step outside and look up at the “moon turned to blood,” and to pray for forgiveness, to grant forgiveness to others, and to thank God for the precious Blood of Jesus, which washes away all our sin. May we see a revival of truth, justice, and righteousness, and one last Great Awakening in America before He comes.

Are you ready?

November 1, 2022 - What Do You Desire Most?

What do you want most in life? Many people want money, fame, or power. Some sadly even sell their soul to get it. Have you ever considered if what you seek the most is earthly or eternal? Jesus said, “lay up treasure in Heaven, not on the earth.” (See Matt. 6:19-21)

People often say, “Keep the main thing the main thing.” Or “Stay focused!” But on what? Is it your job? Your career? Your education? Your spouse, kids, or family? All of that is important, but what’s “the main thing,” really?

David, the worshipping shepherd turned warrior king, narrowed down his one true desire above all else to this:

“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple.” — Psalm‬ ‭27:4‬

He simply wanted to be with the Lord forever. In Hebrew, His Name here is translated Adonai, meaning Master. It’s a beautiful Name of God, with fascinating implications of love, intimacy, and submission. David was “the man after God’s own heart.” (1 Sam. 13:14; Acts 13:22)

This has become so real and tangible to me lately. Nothing else satisfies the soul but to be with Him, to be in His Presence, to seek and to see His face, and to anticipate His soon return for us in the glorious rapture of the Church.

People also say “There are no U-hauls to Heaven.” Anything we accumulate here on earth remains here. You don’t take it with you. Like the Apostle Paul said, all these things are meaningless except to know Him. (Phil. 3:8-10)

May we all fall in love with Adonai again and again. May we endeavor to lay up treasure in Heaven, not on earth, and may we make our “One Thing” as David did, to be with Him now and forever.  Amen.

October 26, 2022 - Give God Your Yes

Do you remember the first time you felt God tugging on your heart and you said “yes” to follow Him?  Some of you may have walked down an aisle in a Sunday church service during an invitation to surrender your life to Christ.  Most of us can remember the first time we said “yes” to God, but did you know that was meant to be the FIRST of many Yeses?

As we grow in our faith and understanding of our walk with God, He begins to place relational responsibility on us.  The measure of our spiritual growth hinges on our willingness to surrender to His plan/will for our lives.  Saying “yes” to God doesn’t necessarily mean He will send you off to the darkest part of the earth as a missionary – but what if He does?

When was the last time you gave God your “Yes”?  Your full surrender?  Your trust in His plan?  Friend, God can be trusted with your life.  You trusted him with your eternal destiny in salvation, right?  So you can also trust Him with your daily life.

Think of the Virgin Mary when God asked her to carry the Son of God in her womb. She faced shame and even death in her community for what would seem like an illegitimate pregnancy, but God protected her.  After Mary heard God’s plan for her life via the angelic messenger we find her giving God her “yes” in Luke 1:38.  “And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” ‭‭Mary was willing to serve and trust God’s wisdom and care of her life and future!

Are you feeling lost right now?  Maybe a little disconnected from God?  Oftentimes when I feel this way I can trace back over my life to when I began to “drift,” and I discover that I said “NO” to God instead of joyfully surrendering my “YES” to Him.  It’s a simple matter of repentance – TURNING AROUND and begin walking closer with God again.  You’ll soon discover that His plans for you are always for your good and His GLORY.  Give God your “YES” today – it’s the best way to live!

October 18, 2022 - Encounters With God

I accidentally took that picture of a huge angel with a flaming sword a few years ago just after crying out to God for a miracle.  Maybe He wanted me to know He heard me, I don’t know, but He did answer that prayer.  What’s happened to the Church today that we either don’t want or don’t believe in the supernatural things of God anymore? The Bible is packed full of spiritual and supernatural encounters with God. From Genesis to Revelation, Creation to the Holy City, we see the most amazing miracles and incredible, supernatural events.

Perhaps the problem is faith. Hebrews 11:1 tells us,“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” We get so accustomed to the senses, living in this world, that we tend to believe what we can see, hear, touch, taste, and smell, far more than the next world and what we cannot see, etc. We are perhaps missing the “eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit is saying,” which Jesus says in Revelation 2 are absolutely necessary.

Jesus was constantly compelling people to believe. Why? Because faith is required for salvation and eternal life, which He suffered and died to give us. He rewarded their faith and chastised their unbelief.  Maybe it’s time for a “faith check-up” from Doctor Jesus?!  How’s your faith today? Strong and healthy, or weak and frail? The enemy and this world are constantly attacking our faith. How’s your Shield of Faith?  Is it radiant or cracked?

Friends, we can’t see Heaven or Jesus or many spiritual things except BY FAITH. Let’s check our faith thermometer and then check out the ‘Faith Hall of Fame’ in Hebrews 11!  It’s truly inspiring!

“Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”— Romans 10:17

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Cor.‬ ‭5:7‬

”…The just shall live by faith.” —Romans 1:17

Can we possibly turn off the intellectual and turn on the spiritual to see God, and to walk and live by faith? Could we just ask, seek, and knock BY FAITH to see Him do miracles, signs, and wonders again? Christianity isn’t boring – at least it shouldn’t be! Our God is infinite in power, wisdom, and majesty, so shouldn’t we be longing to encounter Him?

Lord, we ask You, even as Moses did, Show Us Your Glory! Dear God, give us all eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit is saying and doing. Help us to walk and live by faith. Let us see Your face and hear Your voice. We must have Your Presence.

October 11, 2022 - I Will Dwell With You

“I will dwell with You.”

What a mighty promise! God Himself will be with us! Forever! Furthermore, it was foretold by the prophet Isaiah and then fulfilled in the book of Matthew that Jesus would be WITH US.

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” – Isaiah‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and give birth to a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which means “God with us.” – Matthew‬ ‭1:23‬ ‭

Could this amazing event possibly be the prophetic fulfillment of the 7th of the Lord’s Feasts, the Feast of Tabernacles? It’s also called the Feast of Booths or Sukkot in Hebrew. (See Lev. 23:34-44) God miraculously delivered Israel from slavery, and led them through the wilderness with His cloud by day and fire by night.  He was with them, and they dwelt in booths.

During this week of celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles, let’s remember we are not alone. Jesus has come, and He promised to never leave us nor forsake us. He’s with us, by His Spirit, who indwells us, even to the end of the age, until He comes for us. No matter what we’re fighting or facing in this life, He is with us.

“For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” — 2 Cor‬ ‭5:1

October 4, 2022 - The Day of Atonement

“This is love — not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atonement for our sins.”  — 1 John‬ ‭4:10‬

Today begins The Day of Atonement, called Yom Kippur in Hebrew, is the holiest day of the year on the Jewish calendar. It was a day to “afflict your souls,” the Bible says. (See Lev. 23:26-33) It has historically been a time to fast and pray, and to confess and repent of sin.

Jesus Christ made atonement for our sins with His precious Blood.  It is finished.  No longer does anyone need to offer the blood of bulls and goats as a sacrifice of sin. (Heb. 10:4) We are free.  Whom the Son sets free is free indeed! (John 8:36)

As seen in the picture above, many in Israel gather to pray at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. (Photo credit: Oliver Pitosi) One day, Jesus will return, to Jerusalem, and Israel will mourn and look upon Whom they have pierced. (Zech. 12:10)

But now, we His Church rejoice in His matchless love, that He willingly gave His life for us.  Jesus died that we might live,  becoming the perfect and permanent sacrifice for sin.  Hallelujah, what a Savior!  We pray all will come to repentance and faith, and be washed white as snow, in the precious Blood of the Lamb.  He’s coming soon!

“He Himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.” — 1 Peter 2:24

September 26, 2022 - The Feast of Trumpets

Today is The Feast of Trumpets, the 1st of the fall Feasts of the Lord. Shana Tova!  In Hebrew, that means “Good Year!” It’s similar to our English “Happy New Year!” On the Hebrew Calendar, it’s called Rosh Hashana.  Today marks the beginning of the New Year 5783!

What is the significance for us today?  I’m so glad you asked! This Trumpet call was a sign to Israel to “Get Ready!” It was a call for the assembly to gather or for the directing of movement. (See Numbers 10:1-10) All the Feasts of the Lord, however, point to Jesus our Savior!  They are a shadow, with substance, and He fulfills them all. The Feast of Trumpets specifically points towards the “Rapture” of His people, the Bride of Christ!  (See 1 Cor.‬ ‭15:51-52‬)  Isn’t that amazing?

At the last TRUMPET, we believe that Jesus will call us to gather to Himself, because the Word of God said He would.  Get ready!  He’s calling, and He’s coming!  In Israel, they take this time to repent, make things right with people, and prepare their hearts to walk with God closer than ever before. Likewise, so should the Bride of Christ prepare for His coming.  Are you listening for the Trumpet call?

‬“For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the TRUMPET of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.” – 1 Thes.‬ ‭4:16-17‬

Hallelujah!  Get ready!  Jesus is calling!  Soon we’ll be going Home!  Shana Tova!

“Behold!  I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the LAST TRUMPET.  For the TRUMPET will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.”

– 1 Cor.‬ ‭15:51-52‬ ‭

September 20, 2022 - Rooted in the Rock Christ Jesus

I imagine many of you, like me, were raised in church. My first memories as a little boy were getting all dressed up on Sundays to attend the little white Baptist church with my parents. We had memory verse contests to see who could quote the longest passages in the Bible. At the age of 4, I could quote 1 John chapter 5 in its entirety! My parents were so proud of me, and I swelled with pride when the preacher handed me my award. I didn’t know what I was quoting, but it sure felt good getting all that attention! As a child, my faith was rooted in my parents’ beliefs, then later in that denomination’s beliefs as they lined up with the Bible.

At some point, I began to develop my own root system of faith based on the Bible and found my own relationship with God as I understood Him. As I have grown older, I have realized that it’s not just important to know The WORD, but to also understand the meaning and intent of the Word. I really should say HIS WORD.  Jesus Christ is the SOURCE of our Faith. Our Roots should be tightly woven and grounded into the bedrock of Jesus. That requires an understanding of not just what Jesus said, but the intentions of His words & actions. How did Jesus worship? How did He walk out his faith? How can I become a better disciple if I don’t understand the Rabbi from Galilee?

Friends, Jesus was not a Christian. He was / is Jewish, the King of kings, and the King of the Jews. He’s the Lion of the tribe of Judah. However, over the centuries Christians have taken His teachings, practices & faith and turned it into something very different than what He intended. Colossians 2:7 reminds us to get rooted in HIM – not denominations, not programs, not traditions, or even our families church. If you are rooted in Jesus first, and then pursue living like He did in word and deed, how would that affect the course of your life? Remember Jesus said “the disciple is not greater than His master,” right? Why did we assume that it was ever okay to change our faith away from the way He practiced?

Returning To HIS Roots:

We are fast approaching the season which God calls the “Fall Feasts of the LORD”. This is a season in which Jesus celebrated and also bodily fulfilled each of these holy days. The Feast of Trumpets, The Day of Atonement, & the Feast of Tabernacles will happen over the next few weeks. Many Christian’s have never heard of these events though we are commanded by God to commemorate them forever. Jesus never missed a Holy Day, and He embodied each one of them as the Messiah.

Over the next weeks we will show how Jesus practiced His Faith with his disciples and also how he is the prophetic embodiment and fulfillment of each feast. When I discovered what I had been missing in these holy days, my faith was super charged! Friends, get rooted in Jesus – study His life and faith, and grow your faith deep and strong in Jesus, our ROCK. Remember Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”‬ He does not change!

“Anyone who listens to My teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.” – Jesus – Matthew‬ ‭7:24-25‬

September 13, 2022 - The Light Shines In The Darkness

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”‭‭  -John‬ ‭1:5‬

When the power goes out, we immediately go look for the hidden flashlights and matches to light candles. We don’t like the darkness — it’s scary, lonely, and painful. Darkness can be evil.

God is Light and in Him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5) He created the light on the earth, and He Himself is the light of Heaven. So how do we deal with this present darkness?

Author of God’s Glory and Pastor of the North Georgia Revival, Todd Smith says, “When God is preparing to use someone in the light, His first action is to escort that individual into the dark.” Wait, what?!!

I am suddenly reminded of King David who once hid in dark caves, the Prophet Daniel who was thrown into a dark lions den, Jonah in the belly of a great fish, and even our beloved Lord Jesus in Gethsemane and in the tomb. So should we really think we will escape the darkness?

A.W. Tozer says, “Before God uses a man greatly He must first crush him deeply.” Like all who have gone before us, and like a butterfly from a dark cocoon, we will emerge victorious over the darkness by letting His light shine in.  I love the worship song by Cody Carnes, “Let the Light In.”

Jesus is the Light of the world (John 9:5), but He also says we are the light of the world (Matt. 5:14).  If you’re walking through the darkness, you are not alone. In the darkness, it’s hard if not impossible to see.  It’s where we must walk by faith, not by sight, knowing He is with us and that nothing is impossible with God.  He’s already defeated the darkness.

“For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” — 2 Cor. 4:6‬

September 9, 2022 - Times & Seasons

As we travel through this life, our seasons change, sometimes simply, sometimes drastically. But through every season, God is with us. King David said, “I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.” — ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭37:25‬ ‭ He promised He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Even now, God’s people are entering a new season, with new beginnings. Many of you can see it, feel it, sense it, or just know it. Don’t fight it, but yield to it, as if you’re riding a wave in the ocean. This new season in our lives requires a greater level of TRUST in God.

This new beginning could be anything — your job, home, city, church, business, family, or all of the above. Don’t dread the transition and don’t fear the change; instead, get excited, knowing that God knows exactly what He’s doing, and He makes no mistakes. He is working on your behalf! Keep your eyes on Jesus.

“He changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” — Daniel‬ ‭2:21‬

God is the Author and Architect of our lives. He is the One making the changes in our seasons. Don’t resist — trust Him. He promised to order our steps and light our paths.

It may be difficult, waiting, in the transition. They say, “While you’re waiting for a door to open, it’s hell in the hallway.” Just don’t quit walking. You’re going to get through it, just like the children of Israel walked out of Egypt through the Red Sea on dry ground to the other side. So will you.

Follow the Cloud by day and the Fire by night. Let the Holy Spirit lead you. Surrender to the wind of the Spirit.

God’s got you!

September 3, 2022 - Revive Us Again

“Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.”  Revalation 3:19‬‬ ‭

Have you ever attended an old fashioned revival meeting? I remember as a child my parents taking me to old fashioned tent meetings or “camp-meetings” where there was sawdust on the floor and old fashioned folding chairs. Passionate choirs would sing revival hymns and sometimes I got to witness people even running up and down the aisles red faced & shouting “Glory!” As an 8 year old kid, I enjoyed watching all the activities but wasn’t quite sure what to make of it all. It seemed like everyone waited all year to get revived and then it would slowly drain back to empty until the church scheduled another week of revival.

Years later as a young man, I surrendered my life to Jesus and repented of my sin durning a similar revival service.  Jesus began to do a deep work in my heart. After a while I began to get distracted with life, busy, caught up with work, family, church, etc. I gradually swapped my revival for a weekly visit to church, and a 5 minute daily devotional, ignoring the gentle nudge of Jesus looking for RELATIONSHIP.  I eventually realized my blunder and repented, turning back to “the first works of surrender.”

Friends, we need to constantly perform “heart checks” and ask ourselves – “am I going through the motions, checking off religious boxes and fooling myself, or am I truly engaging Jesus in matters of the heart?” Jesus calls us to “be zealous and repent”.(Rev. 3:19) That simply means to passionately pursue a relationship with Him by continually changing course to stay in alignment with His plans. Revival is something that must happen every day. If believers practiced passionate repentance regularly we would live in a constant state of revival.

Renewal, Restoration, and Revival, are all words that are predicated by REPENTANCE. That’s a surrender that happens intentionally, regularly, and repeatedly. I promise you that relationship beats the brakes off of holding on until next year’s annual revival. You can start your personal party with God today by simply repenting ,and re- aligning your heart to His. Dont wait another day! The 1st step towards personal revival starts with repentance!

“Behold, I stand at the door (your heart) and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come in to him and eat with him and he with me.”  – Jesus Christ (Revelation 3:20)

August 23, 2022 - Don't Just Go To Church

BE the Church! You ARE the Church!

How often have you been asked, “Where do you go to church?” Do you think when you get to Heaven’s gates, Abraham will ask you where you went to church and then direct you to go sit with the Baptists on the north side or with the Catholics on the south side?  Of course not, right? How ridiculous!

Jesus said He would build HIS church, and the gates of hell would not prevail against it. (Matt. 16:18) His church is His Body, His Bride, His people.  It is not a building, made with hands or a particular denomination that thinks they’re the best.  You and I are His church, the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and He loves us and has called us to be His hands, His feet, and His voice.  Say this with me, “I am the church.”  That’s the truth.

“As you come to Him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” — 1 Peter‬ ‭2:4-5‬

Don’t just go to church, BE the church!  Ekklesia is the Greek word for church.  It literally means “called out ones.”   There is a move of God happening right now, that is outside the four walls of the church buildings.  His Spirit is being poured out in these last days just as He promised, and it is so beautiful!  Get out there and go BE the church!  Here’s what will happen:

”And He said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation…. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in My Name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues… they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover… And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.”
